Who Are We?
Soroptimist International of Fairfax County (SIFC) is a community-based volunteer service club that is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA) which is headquartered in Philadelphia, PA. SIA was founded in 1921 and is now the largest business and professional women's service organization in the world--over 100,000 members in 120 countries and territories--whose mission is to improve the lives of women and girls locally and around the world. We do so by donating our time, energy, and financial help to community-based, regional, national and international projects in support of our mission.

SIFC members are like you. We are:

  • Educators
  • Lawyers
  • Federal agency officials
  • Trade association executives
  • Bank executives
  • Government consultants
  • Business owners
  • Wives
  • Mothers
  • Sisters
  • Friends
  • Pet owners
We support projects that provide shelter to victims of domestic violence and abuse, education and training for those who want a better job and to build a career, counseling services for those who want a better life, and hope for those stricken with chronic or fatal illnesses who want a future.

We provide grants and awards that recognize personal accomplishments, goals still to be achieved, and those who have and continue to make significant contributions to the community related to Soroptimist projects, goals, and the SI mission.

We are volunteers who want to give back.
